Early Careers

How employee advocacy wins early careers

How employee advocacy wins early careers

A recent survey of 2,000 candidates revealed a split personality when it comes to researching employers. While some candidates dive deep, spending hours learning about your company, others skim the surface, making snap judgments in minutes.

What does this mean for you? Your candidate experience needs to be tailored, offering quick, clear info for the speedy browsers and rich, evolving content for the curious deep-divers.

Nearly 80% of candidates are put off by negative stories about employers, and 45% trust the voices of current employees above all else. So, your employees’ authentic stories are everything. Advocacy turns a cold, transactional process into a warm, personal journey that candidates remember, and that companies win from.

At our breakfast event, hosted in partnership with Connectr, we welcomed their Head of Customer Experience Yasmin Howell, who shared best practices to make advocacy work for you.

Real people, real stories.

Here are some of Yasmin’s top tips on building a winning advocacy program.

Recruit young advocates close in age and experience to your candidates, authenticity matters.

Keep participation flexible and fun, no heavy volunteering burdens.

Recognise, reward, and cover expenses, people want to feel valued and supported.

Embed advocacy into your broader organisational development to create a sustainable cycle, as new hires become future advocates.
